Here is the energy forecast for August 2026, plus three stones that may help you weather the month to come with grace.
When I looked at the energy of August 2026, I saw something I’ve never seen before. (If you aren’t aware, I often see the energy of the month as a line.) This time, there was the usual impenetrable tangle. But then the line bent sharply and shot upward. What was that about? A new direction? Something out of left field? I guess we’ll know sometime in the next few weeks.
As I sat in the energy of the month, I felt strong winds and driving rain, and saw a shivering puppy. It’s possible that a flood, tornado, or hurricane is in our future. If you are in an area prone to severe weather, please heed any warnings and take great care.
The last thing I saw was a dark cloud over the Capitol building. Ominous, right? I was feeling a bit blue over all this—and then my friend Laura Michelle Wolff MEd sent out this post: The 15-Minute Practice that Turns You into a Beacon of Upliftment for Others. It was just what I needed.

What can you tell me about the energy of August?
Surprise. Silence. Short-lived promises. In August things may not go the way you think they should. There will be surprises and new information, most of it unpleasant. It’s a necessary evil, for you must see clearly before you can make changes that better serve you. The energy of August welcomes the winds of change.
You mention short-lived promises. What do you mean?
Those currently in power are not trustworthy. You might say they speak out of both sides of their mouths. They may make promises with little intention of keeping them.
Is there anything special we should look for?
The news has gotten progressively more bleak. We know it isn’t pleasant. Good news is available, however. You just have to look for it. Watch for small victories in the courts and in local jurisdictions against encroachments by the state.
How will the energy of August affect us in our personal lives?
You may find yourself longing for peace and quiet. You may find that you are more irritated by background noise—television, lawnmower, laundry, and the other various and sundry noises of domestic life. It is an indication that the population is fed up with the current state of affairs. You just want a break. In this month, take that break. Retreat to a quiet room. Turn off the television and sit in the absence of noise. This will help to refresh your spirit.
How can manage we the energy of August?

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
You may have to work to maintain your balance this month. In the weeks to come, focus on what’s in front of you. Focus on your hobbies, your children, or your pets. Take a vacation, enjoy water sports, or potter in the garden. These small activities bring peace to your spirit. And that is the kindest thing you can do for yourself and for your world right now.

Thanks Alison and Laura! What a pleasure to have this reminder on the threshold of this Gate. I've always felt the turning of the seasonal tide in early August with relief and gratitude, a kind of refreshing surge that makes me want to draw or sew or paint, savoring making something beautiful. Earlier this week as I sat meditating, it occurred to me that my prayer for 'creative expansion through love and joy' could be shared with all life on the planet effortlessly. Not just me and my loved ones, but all of us living beings! Had I never had that thought before? Reading your posts, I'm gleefully thinking that since All Time is NOW, the prayer has been expanding, is expanding, will expand across all time right now... and that feeling of love in my heart, surging again, has been in my experience all along. I'm so grateful!
